YFC Involvement: Have just finished my rein as chairman, I sit on the rally and
executive committees.
Your Family: I live with my mum and dad and I am the only childA
non agricultural family, originally from the Culm valley in Devon. Have lived
in Denmead for 19 years, but frequently away with work.
Your Occupation: Lead
Instructor at Outdoor Activity Centre based in the New Forest. I have worked
there for 4 ½ years, and get paid to teach kayaking, canoeing, climbing etc.
trying to involve Outdoor Education as much as possible.
Your Hobbies: Kayaking,
Canoeing, Climbing, Tchoukball, Mountain Biking
Your Nickname: ‘NOZZER’
was created by best mate Midget at Denmead football club when we were the innocent
age of 7 and its still going strong.
Your Ambitions: To
own my own small holding where I can offer a combination of guest accommodation
feeding them with own and local produce but also providing outdoor pursuits in
the local countryside. Ideal location for this would be Dartmoor or the Lake
District. Any financial support would be greatly appreciated (he-he)
Favourite YFC Activity: Line
dancing. Didn’t think I would enjoy it, just went along for a laugh and have
now got involved with bigger functions. (sad I know)
Your Claim to Fame: I
represented Great Britain in the sport of Tchoukball, played for country for 2
years at 2 tournaments. One in Switzerland and at the world tournament at
Loughbrough where 9 countries took part. I even made it onto Eurosport.
Your Favourite Food: Can’t
beat a simple bangers and mash with onion gravy combo.
Your most Embarrassing Moment: After
a heavy night on the sauce in New Zealand, being woken up in the middle of a
car park by the coach driver of our tour bus. Then thrown into luggage
compartment of the coach to sleep it off.
If you had to be an Animal: Meer
cat, mainly because they are a curious animal but a little bit cheeky when they
have the chance.
Lifes Highlights: Working
at school for 2 weeks in the Philippines, building them a playground.
Lifes Lowlights: In
the Philippines seeing the dump site where the children that attended the
school lived.
