County Office Information

 

The county office will be closed from 24^th December till 2^nd January 2008, I will be available on my mobile during this period – 07966406457 and will be checking emails.

 

COMPETITIONS

 

Please remember to get your entries in for up and coming competitions – see diary of events at the end of this newsletter

                                       

As you will know the County decided to implement 4 new sub committees to take over some of the responsibilities that were previous dealt with by the County Organiser, these committees are as follows:-

Publicity & Marketing – Chairman - Robert Miller - 07866 381668

 

We now need member to get involved in these committees and urge anyone who wants to get involved to contact the relevant chairman on details above.

 

The first meeting will be on the 18^th February 2008 in Saxony Hall @ Sparsholt College

 

These Committees will only work if members get involved so if would like to contribute the county’s future, please contact the chairman of the committee or the county office,

 

NEWS ON PAST EVENTS

 

NATIONAL - Stockman of the Year – Written Results

 

As you are all aware the Dairy Event was cancelled and this meant the cancellation of the Dairy and Linear Stock Judging, and Young Stockjudge and Stockman of the Year competitions.

 

However due to the timing of the event being cancelled, Stockman of the Year competitors had already submitted their written reports. It was then decided that due to the hard work the members had put in the written projects would be marked.  A certificate will be award for the top ten places. NB: the marks for this competition will not go towards the NFU trophy as the whole competition did not take place.

 

Many Thanks to everyone that submitted their projects – let’s hope next year will be a better.

Netball & Hockey – 11^th November

 

This year the hockey and netball were both very well attended with more than two teams in both sections, which meant all clubs got to play lots of games. It was also good to see junior hockey added this year to allow the juniors to get involved as well. Hopefully next year we will have even more clubs taking part.

Hampshire County Dance – 17^th November

I’m pleased to say we had another great evening at the Rosebowl again this year.  About 250 of you turned out in your suits, posh frocks and sumo suits!  And danced to the excellent music provided by Ben Glover and Sparky from Power FM.  The food again this year was great with a choice of chilli con carne or pork normandy followed by apple pie or chocolate mousse.  Kelly and I persuaded as many of you as possible to buy a playing card for £1 with the chance of winning £50 prize money – the lucky winner was Will Bedford – he brought us a drink with his winnings so that was even better!  I hope you all had a great time.
