Petersfield YFC Club Report:

This year Petersfield Young Farmers have been kept busy taking part in loads of different activities. The list is endless; hockey matches, raft racing, quizzes and games nights. We also had a great time up at the sustainability centre where we learnt new skills such as hurdle making and wood turning. We are fortunate enough to have a beautiful home for the club in West Meon Springs, which gives us the chance to go fly fishing and clay pigeon shooting. These events were hugely successful with over 40 people participating.

Petersfield Young Farmers in its new monthly format has been running for a year, and the competing members have done extremely well taking part, and in some cases winning quizzes and sports matches. To top it all off winning Christmas quiz against the Petersfield Growmore Club! (Nice not to see the wooden spoon for a change!)

I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as Vice Chair of PYFC, and the thing which makes all the difference is down to the people who turn up and make the meetings such a laugh. By joining young farmers, I have made some great new friends.

A special thanks to Gwen who keeps us all in control and as organised as possible, and also to Suzy another key person this year in the driving force of the club. There are numerous amounts of other people to thank and I'm sure I have forgotten people but a huge thanks to Matt Atkinson who gave us a memorable farm walk and a go at sheep shearing (some were more successful than others!!). Also thanks to our Chair Laura and Secretary Suzie for their ever ready enthusiasm. Huge thanks to our president Will Butler for continuously supporting the club.

This year PYFC built in size, spirit and competiveness - we are now officially back on the map!! This year we want to show Hampshire that we've got what it takes!! We are looking forward to meeting members from other clubs in Hampshire, and if you are living in the Petersfield / East Meon area, why not come along on the first Wednesday of the month?
